Hari--: a name of the Supreme Personality of Godhead meaning "He who removes all obstacles to spiritual progress."

Haridasa Thakura-: a great devotee of Lord CAITANYA MAHAPRABHU famous for chanting three hundred thousand names of God every day.

Hari-nama initiation-: initiation into the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra.

Hari-vamsa-: a supplement to the MAHABHARATA.

Hati-mata -: the "mad elephant" offense committed against a Vaisnava, which destroys one's devotional creeper. Likened to a mad elephant breaking into the garden and pulling up the creeper of Pure devotion. This kind of offense can destroy advancement in devotional service.

Holy names: Since God is unlimited, He has unlimited Names. Therefore we cannot settle on one name only. All of His names are considered Holy and Purifying, so for this age of Kali Yuga, the process recommended for attaining spiritual realization is the chanting of the Holy Names of God.
