How to Reach Us
[Air] [Rail] [Sea] [Road] [Post] [FAX] [Phone] [Mantra] [e-mail] [Internet]
Reaching
here by Air
Take a flight
that lands at Mumbai (Bombay)
If you are arriving from outside India, then go straight to the pre-paid (government controlled) taxi-stand situated right outside the Air-Port building. Do not attempt to hire a taxi by yourself (until unless you just cannot resist getting royally cheated). After paying the standard amount at the pre-paid taxi counter collect the receipt. Now you will be allotted a taxi and the driver will be called for you. YOU OWE NOTHING to the driver - not even a penny (Of course you can chant him the Hare Krishna mahamantra, but don't give him any money, even if you can afford. By doing so you will only be corrupting him.)
If you arrived at the domestic air-port by any other plane other than Indian Airlines, then follow rule # 1. If you arrived by Indian Airlines (a different terminus) then you are on your own (poor you!). The system is: The taxi driver should not ask for lumpsum amount. He also cannot refuse to go where you tell him to go (until unless, it is the den of a don!). After reaching the destination the driver is supposed to take out his government allotted taxi-fare-card and after showing you the fare-card ask you to pay the exact amount as printed. But it will never happen if you don't have an Indian body or if your accent is non-Indian even if you have an Indian body!! In such cases, try to force him to abide by the taxi-fare-card or if he is too nagging and insists on a lumpsum payment, just take out your calculator and divide the number by 3. In most cases if you have good karma, you won't be cheated much !!!
Yeah! one more thing : Your destination is "HARE RAMA, HARE KRISHNA Mandir at JUHU". (Somehow the Indians just cannot say Hare Krishna first, they must say Hare Rama first!)
Reaching
here by Rail
When you are
trying to arrive at Hare Krishna Land, Juhu by train - your train has to stop at
one or more of these stations.
Dadar (Best
place to download yourself, Most trains will stop here for about 5
to 7 minutes)
If you missed Dadar, then the next possible stop is the last stop (much
further away from the temple): Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus
(CST or VT)
If your train stops at Borivili, then get down here, if you miss then get down at Dadar and if you miss Dadar also then at the last stop Bombay Central.
Right outside the platform you will find the Taxi Stand (If you are engaging a porter make sure he is wearing a RED SHIRT and has got a metallic badge on his arm. Don't talk to more than one porter, if more porters are necessary, let him arrange. Know for sure, they will overcharge you. (But still select the Red Shirted ones - they are the authorized ones. If you note down their badge number you can track them back if they run away with your baggage!). Now that you are out in the middle of rouges (Taxi stand), get ready to shell out your 2 years of savings!!
The system is: The taxi driver should not ask you for a lumpsum amount. He also cannot refuse to go where you tell him to go (until unless, it is the den of a don!). After reaching the destination the driver is supposed to take out his government allotted taxi-fare-card and after showing you the fare ask you to pay the exact amount as printed. But it will never happen if you don't have an Indian body or if your accent is non-Indian (even if you have an Indian body!) In such cases, try to force him to abide by the taxi-fare-card or if he is too nagging and insists on a lumpsum payment, just take out your calculator and divide the number by 3. In most cases if you are lucky, you won't be cheated much !!!
You can tell the driver that your destination is "HARE RAMA, HARE KRISHNA Mandir at JUHU !!". Every driver in the city of Mumbai knows the ISKCON temple. In case he is trying to act that he doesn't know about the temple or has never heard of it, you can be sure that he is planning to take you for an all-India tour before reaching the temple and then he will point at the meter and ask for a valid but Herculean amount. Avoid arguments, and go to some other driver who accepts that he knows where the temple is and that he is going to charge as per the meter.
Reaching
here by Sea
From the port,
the best method for reaching the temple is to hire a taxi. Kindly follow the
instructions for hiring a cab in the "Reaching
here by Air"
section.
Reaching
by Road
Your
destination is "HARE RAMA, HARE KRISHNA Mandir at JUHU"
in Mumbai (Bombay). Get there somehow or other either by Taxi, Bus, Bullock
cart, cycle, running, walking or hitch-hiking. Just come here and taste our
Govindas prasadam and have darshan of Sri Sri Radha Rasabihariji. (It
is worth it.) Carry some Srila Prabhupada's books - distribute it on your way.
Must carry prasadam, street urchins and petrol station workers may smilingly
(and respectfully) demand their share of prasadam. Give them. (Keep
some for me too!)

The 9 step
easy, time tested process of contacting Sri Sri Radha Rasabihariji Mandir by
mantra:
Don't eat or drink anything from 2:00 pm onwards.
Read Bhagavad-gita As It Is (published by BBT - ISKCON) for atleast 2 hours.
Maintaining your fast - buy, wash, cut, cook and offer ecstatic vegetarian preparation to Lord Sri Krishna with love & devotion.
While still maintaining your fast - distribute this aromatic and ecstatic Sri Krishna Prasadam to your neighbors. (At least 10 people should be served to their complete satisfaction.)
Go to bed, don't sleep, open up Krishna Book (BBT - ISKCON). Open any page randomly. Go to the beginning of the chapter. Read 3 consecutive chapters including the one which opened first.
Next: Put on Srila Prabhupada's "Hare Krishna Dhun" audio tape. Plug in the earphone to your ears and putting the cassette player on auto-reverse mode, focus sharply on the sound vibrations emanating from Srila Prabhupada's voice. Must hear with attention each and every syllable being pronounced. All the frequency vibrations emanating from the instruments being played including the ubiquitous hisss... should be meditated upon. These vibrations are of transcendental nature.
While following step # 6 if you go to sleep, then fine. But, don't forget to put a loud alarm for morning 3:30 am, before-hand. If you don't sleep and are awake adhering to step # 6 very strictly then skip this part and at 4:00 am go to step # 9. If you slept, then jump out of your bed at 3:30 am with full vigor shouting - Jai Srila Prabhupada. Jai Shri Shri Guara-Nitai and your favorite Radha-Krishna deities names. For example: Jai Sri Sri Radha Rasabihariji.
Now go, run, finish your morning duties, take a cold shower bath, apply tilaka markings on 12 prescribed places on your body chanting the prescribed mantras, put on fresh garments and we are ready for the final step. (Step # 8 should finish by 4:00 am)
Chant the following mantra for 108 times on tulasi beads. Chant loud enough to clearly hear each syllable that you are chanting. Chanting should be completely devoid of all the 10 offenses mentioned in the book: "Nectar of Devotion" (BBT - ISKCON). And at the end of it, you will have contacted Sri Sri Radha Rasabihariji Mandir. Get results or your money back. That's a guarantee. The mantra is as follows:
| Hare Krishna Hare Krishna | |||
| Krishna Krishna Hare Hare | Click here to hear Srila Prabhupada chanting this mantra | ||
| Hare Rama Hare Rama | |||
