Mandir-devi dasi

"As one can cross over the ocean with seagoing vessels, one can cross the dangerous situation of the material ocean by living with a wife" (from the 3rd Canto of the Srimad-Bhagavatam).

Let me start by listing the appearances anniversaries since our last issue. Hari Gaura turned 6 on February 5th. Srila Krsnapada appeared in this world on February 25, 1950. Ganga-devi dasi and Heaven Summer Raye both celebrated on March 1st, Ganga turned 12 and Heaven is now 3. My brother, Denny Walthers, turned 11 on March 17th. Ghanasyam is 10 as of April 19th, and Hanuman das became 22 on April 27th.

Henry White Jr., father of Ramabhadra das, father-in-law of Kamagiri, and husband of Mother Visakha, passed away on April 28, 1998. About 16 devotees attended the funeral at the Chapel of Peace and later delicious prasadam was served to about 80 people.

Candramauli Swami spoke at a nice program at Mother Radica's on March 23rd. On April 12th, Easter Sunday, Mother Malati gave talk from Bhagavad-Gita. It was a special day because after the lecture, Bhakta Jeremy proposed to Bhaktin Deena. Wedding arrangements have been made for this year's Lord Have Mercy Festival. Mother Krsnanandini will be officiating the ceremony. May they have a blessed Krsna conscious marriage.

On April 19th, Bhaktin Sharon and Bhakta David announced that they had been engaged since April 14th. They are planning for sometime in June, 1998 and they asked Mother Krsnanandini to do the honors. Haribol!

On Monday, April 13th at the Seedwork in Kent, Ohio, Candra Shekar so kindly gave a lecture on descriptions of Kali-yuga from the Srimad Bhagavatam. There was a nice kirtan, and, of course, prasadam. The Seedwork is a new gallery/storefront which will be holding more Krsna conscious programs in the near future. For more information, contact Bhakta Jim Kelley at (330) 297-5353. Hope to see you there. Lastly, Bhaktin Myra and Bhakta Jason are being initiated by Swami Krsnapada May 23rd, memorial day weekend, at Gita Nagari.
