On the Road to Guru and Krsna

Isopanisad-devi dasi

Let me first begin by offering my obeiscences to His Divine Grace Bhakti-Tirtha Swami, who is the greatest Love of my Life. Actually, one is so fortunate to have such a feeling of empowerment that it makes me cry, as I write. This is so overwhelming. How did one receive such mercy? What did we do? On the Road to Guru and Krsna is the story of pastimes with my guru. From the very first recollection of our assosciation to the present moment.

So grab a cup of nectar, sit back, and relax as we begin the journey. Reaching into the past requires quite a bit of searching for the right moment to begin. Where does one start this transcendental

journey? As I was contemplating this thought, Srila Krsnapada asked me to remind the diciples that a real guru/disciple relationship is reciprocal and there are three essential techniques to help develop ourinternal relationship with guru:

1.) When you wake in the morning, throughout the day, and in the evening, go before the picture of your spiritual master and talk to him. Let him know what's going on in your life.

2.) Get into the habit of writing a letter or keeping a diary. Write to guru on a regular basis. This way you are being accountable to the spritual master about what’s happening in your life through writing, remembering, and thinking.

3.) Anything that you do, think that guru is physically there watching. Or that Krsna is telling guru about this. How would the spritual master be pleased about what you are saying, thinking, or doing?
