The Lord Have Mercy Festival is Officially On!
Krsnanandini-devi dasi
On Wednesday, March 25, 1998, Tariq (my husband) and I appeared before the City of Cleveland Special Events Steering Committee. Tariq gave an excellent overview, even lightening the officious mood by causing laughter. However, this year things have changed and the City is requiring more Laxmi (money) from us. There is the park permit, the temporary food service license, the electric permit, the inspector’s fee, insurance, etc., etc., etc. We are praying to be able to serve at least 1,000 prasadam plates (last year we served about 400). By the sweet grace of Srimati Radharani and Srila Prabhupada, we know that whatever we need will be provided.
A celebration of our appreciation for the One Supreme Lord (called by many glorious names),The Second Annual Lord Have Mercy Festival, to be held on July 18, 1998, invites persons from all faiths to participate in a united effort to beseech Krsna's mercy to: (1) heal our earth; (2) increase our compassion for all living beings and (3) bring unity, harmony and peace to our families and our society. Representatives from the Christian, Jewish, Native American, Islamic, and Vedic spiritual traditions will offer songs, prayers, poems, and spiritual dance. A wedding is also being considered.
We invite all our readers to attend and appreciate any donations for this glorious festival (Estimated expenses exceed $2,000). Send check or money order (no cash) to the Cleveland Nama Hatta Program; 873 E.128th St.; Cleveland OH 44108.
