In the Hare Krishna movement the cows and bulls are revered and protected.
Only a cruel society condones the wholesale slaughter of these animals. In the Vedic literature the cow is described as ones mother and the bull as ones father.
Lagudi and Gopinatha With the bullocks
On New Govardhana
the cows provide milk and the bulls are trained to
till the earth, pump water for irrigation and to draw various types of wheeled vehicles.
The two devotees responsible for the
cow protection program are Lagudi and Gopinatha Acarya. A huge body of statistical evidence
points squarely at meat eating for the destruction of much
of the earths environment. We would also contend that to refrain from animal killing generates a more peaceful individual. For further information read "Divine Nature"
