His Divine Grace Prahladananda Swami Maharaja was born on the 25th of May in 1949. His studies at the University of Buffalo were paid fully by the state of New York. He was honoured as one of the best students of the University.

In January of 1969 he joined the Society for Krishna Consciousness and one month later he was initiated by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and in May the very same year received second initiation. The same month of May he started Sankirtana in Buffalo.

As his spiritual master Srila Prabhupada had requested, he helped opening temples in the South of the United States. He was also president of the temples in Houston, Dallas and Austin. He has always remained distributing Srila Prabhpada's books and preaching in the universities.

In 1975 he joined the travelling Sankirtan party "Radha Damodara" and travelled throughout the United States distributing Srila Prabhupada books.

In 1981 he took the post of editor of the magazine "Back to Godhead".

In march of 1982 he received the order of Sannyasa.

In 1984 he was in charge of the administration of Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.

His auspicious arrival to Spain took place at the end of 1986 and the following year he started to initiate as Guru, spiritual master, of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.

In 1989 he took part in the Vaisnava institute for higher education in Vrndavana and in the G.B.C. (Governing Body Commission) meeting in march 1990 he was appointed as member of the committee of health and well being of the G.B.C.

In 1991 he was named GBC minister for sannyasa.

In 1993 he was named GBC minister for Health and Welfare.

His Divine Grace is dedicated to travel every year one or two times, to preach in different parts of the world inspiring the devotees in devotional service and to participate actively in distributing Srila Prabhpada's books.
