Srila Prabhupada preached vigorously from his 23rd Street temple. On September 11th, after two months there, he initiated eleven young American boys and girls as his disciples.

Srila Prabhupada takes great trouble to train his disciples
As the spiritual master of his disciples, Srila Prabhupada had now assumed full responsibility for training them in spiritual life.
"I felt guilty that by discussing things with Srila Prabhupada we were taking up his time and suggested to him that we should leave and let him get on with his translating work.
"You think I am not working now?" Srila Prabhupada retorted. "Do you think this is not work? You do not know what work is! This is also work."
